The Pupillage Foundation Scheme is run twice a year to help post-BPTC members in their search for pupillage. The course includes an introduction, an application workshop and 'mock' interview sessions. You will also get paired up with a mentor, who will offer on-going support. We try to place mentees with a practitioner as close to their preferred practice area as possible.
We have a limited number of 20 places on each round of the scheme. The Chairman of the scheme, His Honour John Samuels QC will review the applications and we will be in touch at least 3 weeks in advance to confirm your place. Please be aware that you are expected to put in commitment throughout the scheme. In particular, you must attend all sessions. We have seen from past participants just how it can help individuals providing you are willing to participate fully, that means meeting deadlines, sticking to arrangements for meetings with mentors, etc.
The next round of the scheme will be taking place at at our training facility, based in Roll's Passage, 33 Chancery Lane on the following dates:
Wednesday 30th November from 5:45pm – 8:30pm
Saturday 6th January (Morning and afternoon sessions, times TBC)
Saturday 20th January (Morning and afternoon sessions, times TBC)
Wednesday 7th March from 5:45pm - 8:30pm
The application deadline for both the Manchester and London Schemes is the 1st September 2017. Please indicate which scheme you are applying for in your email.
If a high level of applications are received, those that have submitted their application first will have preference. We therefore recommend submitting your application as early as possible.
The charge for the scheme is £40 to be paid once your place has been confirmed, however waivers will be considered for anyone who is struggling, especially if they are travelling long distances and at high costs.
