Because it is a private Chapel, a special licence is required for those wishing to get married in the Chapel. One of the conditions of this licence, obtained from the Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury, is that either the bride or the bridegroom should be able to show a reasonable connection to the Inn and its Chapel, subject to the discretion of the Treasurer and Preacher. Those who are so qualified should contact the Member Services Officer at
, who will advise on the procedure for obtaining the licence and on the current fees, and give contact details for the Preacher and Organist.
Those wishing to hold their reception in the Inn should contact the Banqueting Department, but if they wish to marry in the Chapel they should clear the date with the Preacher first before booking a date for the reception.
Members of the Inn who wish to have a child baptised in the Chapel should contact either the Assistant Under Treasurer or the Preacher at
to arrange a date and discuss further details. No licence is required for Christenings, and no fees are charged if, as is generally the case, the service takes place after the Morning Service on Sunday.
