Scholarships for the Keble Advanced International Advocacy Course 2012

Lincoln’s Inn is offering funding towards the cost of attending the Advanced International Advocacy Course at Keble College, Oxford, for up to five of our members who undertake largely publicly funded work.  The course runs from Monday 27th August (note this is a Bank Holiday) to Saturday 1st September 2012. 

Awards will be given to up to 5 candidates who best demonstrate in written applications:

  1. A commitment (past and future) to practice at the publicly funded Bar.
  2. 3-7 years practice.  You must have completed the New Practitioners Course.
  3. A high level of professional performance to date.
  4. A need of financial assistance in paying the Keble course fees.
  5. Any reasons why the candidate would specifically benefit from the Keble advocacy course.
  6. Previous assistance with the delivery of any aspect of the work of Lincoln’s Inn in providing any services to its members and/or a willingness to assist in such provision in the future.

APPLICATION FORM

Your application must be accompanied by a letter from your Head of Chambers (or equivalent) supporting your application, confirming the predominantly publicly funded nature of your work, and the need for scholarship funding.

The deadline for receipt of completed application forms is Wednesday 10th May 2012.  Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by Thursday 24th May.

Please note that to take up a place at the Keble course you must be a member of the South East circuit.  Details on how to join the Circuit can be found on their website.
