HERITAGE FUND APPEAL
The Heritage Fund, which was set up some twenty five years ago, is a charitable fund which helps to provide money for projects associated with the Inn’s historic collegiate buildings. It is administered by a small Board of Trustees, who allocate funds where the priority is greatest. Recent donations from the Fund have supported the painting of the panels of Coats of Arms in the Great Hall, refurbishment work to the stained glass windows in the Chapel and improvements and repairs to the carvings at the south end of the Great Hall. The three major projects which the Heritage Fund is currently supporting are:
In April 2007 the Inn launched an Appeal for funds to support the work of the Heritage Fund. This Appeal has so far reached more than half a million pounds. A large proportion of this has been due to the generosity of Benchers, who have subscribed an average of over £2000 each to the Appeal. The future of these wonderful historic buildings, and the constant use of them by future generations should be a matter for concern to all members of the Inn.
Any contributions would be welcome, by cheque or standing order to: The Heritage Fund Appeal Secretary, Treasury Office, Lincoln’s Inn, London WC2A 3TL. A payment form is attached, and attention is drawn to the need for UK taxpayers to sign the Gift Aid declaration at the bottom, so that this benefit can be claimed. Your home address is also required, so please enter this in the section provided.
Finally, this and other charitable funds associated with the Inn would benefit considerably from legacies, so please think about this if you are drafting or redrafting your will.
