University Events and Visits

The Inn is very keen to help those who are seeking to establish if a career at the Bar is for them.  The Inn also wishes to assist those who advise students who are making this difficult decision.

University Information Afternoon and Dinners

We put on a series of events in February and March each year for university students when they can visit the Inn, hear from practising barristers and dine in the Hall.  The dates for 2011 are:

Thursday 17 February
Thursday 24 February
Tuesday 15 March
Wednesday 23 March

All universities offering a qualifying law degree are invited to send up to 10 students.  Invitations are sent out in January. If you are interested in attending one of these events either as a student or a tutor please contact our Education Officer, Faye Appleton at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Careers Advisers Events

There is an event once each year for careers advisers giving them the opportunity to hear from and meet those at the Bar.  It is held at each Inn in turn.  In 2011 it will be held at Middle Temple.

University Visits

In addition to these events the Inn can arrange for barristers to visit you at your university or one of the staff can come to talk about the role of the Inns.  Please do contact us if you have any queries about the best way of obtaining the guidance you need.

Individual Tours

Individual university students wishing to arrange a tour/visit should contact Judith Fox, Students' Administrator at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Group Tours

Group tours of Lincoln's Inn are available but they are primarily about the history of the Inn and not related to how to become a barrister.  These tours last around one and half hours and cover everything from the history of the Inn to how it is run.  A minimum of ten people (maximum 30) is required to make these tours viable.  Tours can be arranged for any weekday and at any time between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm provided the guide is available.  The cost is £5 per person with a minimum charge of £50 for the tour.

Payment (by cheque made out to Lincoln's Inn) must be received one week before the tour and if it is not it will be assumed you wish to cancel.  If you do wish to cancel your tour you need to do this at least three working days before the arranged date, or the Inn will not be able to refund your money to you.

If you would like to discuss setting up a tour please email Murray Campbell at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with the date and time when you would most like to visit.
