DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our upcoming Equality, Diversity & Inclusion keynote lecture taking place on Wednesday 30 November.\nWe are delighted to announce that this year’s lecture will be given by the Rt Revd Rose Hudson-Wilkin, CD, MBE on the topic “Making diversity and inclusion a reality”.\nIn her keynote address Bishop Rose will be asking the key questions:\n‘what do we really mean by diversity?’\n‘what do we really mean by inclusion?’\nShe will tackle the challenge of what leadership looks like and what is required to make sustainable cultural systemic change. With reference to the education system and challenging the gatekeepers, Bishop Rose will outline the values for change that are important and bring her own personal journey into the conversation.\nDoors Open: 5:45 pm\nTalk: 6:00 pm\nDrinks Reception: 7:00pm – 8:30pm\nLocation: The Ashworth Centre, Lincoln’s Inn and Online\nThe Rt Revd Rose Hudson -Wilkin, CD, MBE was ordained deacon in 1991 and ordained to the priesthood in 1994. She served as a priest for sixteen and a half years in Hackney, Northeast London. In 2007 she was appointed as a Chaplain to Her Majesty the Queen and in 2010, she became the first female appointed to the position of the 79th Chaplain to the Speaker of the House of Commons. In November 2014, she became the Priest in Charge of the city Church, St Mary-at-Hill near Monument.\nIn November of 2019 she was consecrated as a Bishop in the Church of England and Installed in Canterbury Cathedral as the Bishop of Dover with the responsibility of looking after the diocese of Canterbury on behalf of the Archbishop of Canterbury. In the summer of 2019, she was given the Order of Distinction by the Jamaican Government (in the Rank of Commander) and awarded in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list with an MBE.\nThe event is open to all, including non-members and members of other Inns. Those who have booked to attend remotely will be sent the Zoom link on the day of the event.\nPlease note this is a free event but booking is essential. This event is not a qualifying session.\n
