The Inn organises two Advocacy Workshops in both the Michaelmas and Hilary terms for students at London BPTC Providers. These workshops are a fantastic opportunity to practice your advocacy and get feedback from barristers and judges. Attendance and full participation at these workshops will lead to the accreditation of one qualifying session each. Criminal and civil groups will be available at both of the workshops.
The Advocacy Workshops for London BPTC students this term will take place on:
Wednesday 7 February
Tuesday 27th March
BPTC Providers outside of London
Advocacy Workshops at the BPTC Providers outside of London are organised by the Lincoln's Inn Student Reps in liaison with a local barrister or judge. Attendance and full participation at these workshops will lead to the accreditation of one qualifying session each. Your Lincoln's Inn Student Representatives should be in touch regarding the arrangements for your advocacy workshop and these workshops can be booked on the Online Booking System.
Witness Handling Workshops
The Inn will also host two Witness Handling Workshops covering case analysis, examination-in-chief and cross-examination. Students must prepare for the workshop and will be sent the papers ten days in advance. One will be a criminal exercise and one will be a civil exercise.
The workshops will take place on:
Criminal - Saturday 24th March 2018
Civil - Saturday 2nd June 2018
They are both all-day events and lunch will be provided. The workshops will take place at 33 Chancery Lane and full participation in one workshop will count as two qualifying sessions. Please note these sessions are available to both London and Outside of London BPTC students.
Booking has now closed for the Criminal Witness Handling Workshop and booking for the Civil Witness Handling Workshop (Saturday 2nd June 2018) will open nearer the time on the Online Booking System.
