The estate’s primary function is to provide first class accommodation for barristers, although some chambers are occupied by solicitors and have been for a number of years. The estate also contains a patent office, three shops and part of a public house.
The size of lettings vary between individual rooms to whole buildings of over 10,000 sq. ft. Leases principally contain internal repairing covenants with the Inn remaining responsible for external repairs of the fabric of the buildings and common parts.
There are currently newly refurbished chambers at 14 Old Square (Basement, ground and upper 3 floors) to let. The premises have been fully refurbished as modern offices and to a high standard, including full internal redecoration, new central heating, new carpets, lighting, refurbished tea-points and common areas. The aggregate net internal floor area is 4,133 square feet (384 square metres) including basement conference rooms and offices. The Inn’s preference is to let the premises as a single unit, but consideration will also be given to lettings of whole floors. Chambers wishing to lease more than one floor will be required to take a single lease.
