The Inn offers one prize for undergraduate law students, the Neuberger Prize. We also provide sponsorship to student law / Bar societies.
Sponsorship and Funding for Bar and Law Societies
Lincoln’s Inn offers opportunities for sponsorship to student societies. You must complete an application form informing us why you are applying and how you intend to use the funding. We will be offering amounts of up to £250, and student societies should note that they will only be able to apply for sponsorship from the Inn once per academic year.
Dates regarding the application process will be published shortly.
The Neuberger Prize
In 2015 the Inn established a prize for students about to begin their last year of a qualifying law degree in non-Russell Group universities. The Neuberger Prize aims to identify students who are of proven excellence and give them the opportunity to integrate with the Inn during the final year of their qualifying law degree. The Prize will also provide the winners with the opportunities to network with members of the Inn and its staff, and prepare them to apply for scholarships. The Inn will select up to five winners and they will be given £1000 and free student membership.
Thus far, the Prize has been a great success. In 2017, we received fifteen applications, and five winners were selected from Swansea University, University of Lincoln, University of Northampton, The Open University, and University of Reading. Since 2015, seven of the prize winners have also been selected by the Inn’s Scholarships Panel to receive awards to help them fund their Bar Professional Training Course.
Applications for 2018 have now closed. Information regarding the prize in 2019 will be sent to the qualifying law schools at the end of the 2018/2019 academic year. Students can not apply direct for this Prize, they must be put forward by their university.
