Opening hours
Lincoln’s Inn Library is open to members of the four Inns of Court. We are open Monday to Friday 09:00 to 19:00. From August to mid-September the hours are 09:00 to 18:00. The Library is closed on bank holidays and for a fortnight at Christmas. It is occasionally necessary to close the Library early for special functions. Advance notice is given here and on our social media.
Summer opening hours
From Monday 3 August until Friday 11 September, the Library opening hours are 9.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday. For a full list of all the Inn libraries summer opening hours please click here.
Late Summer Bank Holiday
A reminder that the Library will be closed on Monday 31 August as it is a Bank Holiday. It will re-open on Tuesday 1 September at 09:00.
Saturday opening
During the legal term, one Inn library is open to barristers and students of any Inn from 10:00 to 17:00 every Saturday. Please see the Saturday Opening rota for a full list of Saturday openings for 2026.

Entrance to the Library
When entering the Library, all readers will need to tap a reader’s card on a card reader at the entrance to the Library. This card will also function as a photocopy card and those photocopying cards already issued will be automatically programmed to act as ID cards.
If you want to access the Library and do not already have a photocopy card, please report to the Enquiry Desk, where staff will be happy to issue one to you.
