Wellbeing and Mental Health

Wellbeing and financial worries traditionally are two issues rarely discussed at the Bar. There are many financial and wellbeing resources available to support members of the Inn throughout their career at the Bar. Resources and initiatives are provided by the Inn and also by other external bodies such as the Bar Council and Barristers Benevolent Association, focusing on wellbeing support and financial aid.

In addition, the Inn’s Social & Wellbeing Sub-Committee organises events to improve the wellbeing of members. All members are encouraged to attend. Information on upcoming wellbeing events can be found in our What’s On section and are also advertised in our members’ newsletter. Occasionally, online wellbeing events will be recorded and in these cases they will be made available on our website and YouTube channel’s Wellbeing playlist.

Financial Support

Financial support is available for members of the Inn from a wide range of sources.

Furthermore, Lincoln’s Inn offers over £2 million each year through various scholarships, awards and prizes. The majority of our scholarship fund is allocated to Bar Course and GDL scholars but we also offer assistance for our pupil members and offer a number of International Scholarships. Visit our Scholarship and Prizes page for details.
