Lincoln’s Inn Chapel in the 17th Century – a lecture by Dr Mark Kirkby
400 years ago in 1623, the new Chapel at Lincoln’s Inn was consecrated – a grand but somewhat enigmatic building. In this Black Books Society lecture, recorded on Tuesday 30 May in the Ashworth Centre, Dr Mark Kirkby (Lincoln College, Oxford) discusses the design and construction of the building, placing it in the context of contemporary debates over styles in church architecture, furnishing and worship.
