Advocacy & Ethics Day – Bristol
This event is for current Bar Course students studying in Bristol and Cardiff only. Students will perform advocacy exercises in small groups led by experienced practitioners who will give feedback on their performance. Students will discuss ethical scenarios in groups led by experienced practitioners and will aim to identify the core duties engaged within each scenario.

Material & Preparation:
Students will be sent an advocacy exercise a week before the event to prepare in advance of the session and will have 10 minutes to perform their exercise on the day. Students who have clearly not prepared will not be awarded a Qualifying Session. Students will discuss ethical scenarios in groups led by experienced practitioners and will aim to identify the core duties engaged within each scenario.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of this Qualifying Session students will be able to:
· Recognise some strengths and weaknesses as an advocate.
· Apply feedback and improve advocacy skills.
