The Anniversary Weekend will be a celebration of all the ways we can welcome you to the Inn. We hope the programme provides the perfect opportunity for members who have fallen out of touch to re-engage and enjoy some of our marvellous hospitality.

Saturday 2 April

On the first day of the weekend, you are invited to join us for an indulgent Afternoon Tea. Dine with a guest and enjoy a selection of our homemade cakes, finger sandwiches and fresh scones all prepared by our own culinary team.

This weekend not only marks the 600th anniversary of the continuous record of the Inn in the Black Books, but is also the 150th anniversary of the death of Victorian social reformer (and the Inn’s Chaplain) F. D. Maurice who died on 1 April 1872. A leaflet will be available for guests to do a self-guided walk or bike ride around associated tour sites.

This will be followed by a black-tie dinner in the evening. Enjoy a four-course meal with perfectly matched wines in the opulent surroundings of the Great Hall.

Sunday 3 April

On Sunday morning guests will have two opportunities to join guided tours of the Inn. This will be the perfect opportunity to go around and explore the estate learning about our building history and artwork first-hand by one of the Inn’s employees.

Those that wish can attend one of our regular Sunday chapel services for choral matins with our wonderful professional choir. A traditional Sunday lunch will round up the weekend and set you up for your journey home.

Bookings:  Bookings close at 4.00pm on Friday 25 March 2022. Members can book for themselves and guests via Eventbrite. Please note no bookings will be taken over the phone or via email for the Anniversary Weekend events.

Please contact the Inn’s Member Events Team via [email protected] if you have any questions about the Anniversary Weekend.
