Lecture & Domus Dinner – ‘Oh the places you will go – career development at the Bar an unorthodox approach’

Date
Time
17:30 - 21:30
Location
Ashworth Centre, Great Hall

Speaker(s)/Tutor(s): Bencher of the Inn

Details: The Bar is often seen as one of the most traditional, deeply entrenched and linear of professions. However that stereotype becomes ever more disconnected from the reality those about to enter the profession will experience. One of our Benchers will share their unusual and unexpected career path from being an overwhelmed fish out of water student attending lectures like this through to where they are today. Setting out why success doesn’t have to come from a straight line or traditional approach and why you should embrace the unexpected as well as every zigzag you face! From restoring full-stops to taking the judicial oath, via Harry Potter, Aboriginal Bones, the House of Lords, and live facial recognition.
