The Inn is delighted to be taking part in this years London Square Open Gardens Weekend in association with the London Gardens Trust on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June
Following a three-year £26m development of the Great Hall and Library buildings, the area around the Great Hall has been transformed and now includes an exotic terrace of hardy palms and a long border which mixes formal elements with a contemporary twist. The newly planted woodland-style area is a tapestry of shade-loving plants and spring bulbs. Other garden areas include two extensive mixed shrub borders and the decorative Kitchen Garden.
During the weekend we will have a wide variety of activities on offer, to members and their guests of all ages, as well as the opportunity to stroll through and enjoy our gardens. We will also be offering a delicious range of food, drinks and ice creams throughout the day. Garden tours with the Head Gardener will also be available.
We will be hosting falconry displays by London Falconry and old-fashioned children’s games will be freely available to play on our North Lawn, including croquet, quoits and boules.
The London branch of UK Soul Choirs will also be performing on Saturday 11 June in two lunchtime slots, near to our pop up stalls which will offer barbecue, drinks and sweets on our East Terrace.
As the event is taking place in the Inn’s grounds, members and up to 4 guests are welcome to visit free of charge but advance booking via Eventbrite is essential. Places are limited, so please only book if you and your guests are able to attend. A suggested £5 cash donation to the London Gardens Trust is welcomed on the day on arrival (cash or card donations will be accepted). Please note the booking deadline for both days will be 10 am on Wednesday 1 June.
If you are interested in visiting our Gardens during the weekend, general tickets for the London Square Open Gardens Weekend (including entry to other London Gardens) can be found here and must be purchased directly via their website.
