Sir Louis Gluckstein Advocacy Prize
This is a competition to award the Sir Louis Gluckstein Prize for the best junior advocate at the Inn.
It is open to current Bar Course students and those up to one year Call.
In previous years, we have received a high level of interest in participating in this competition. To ensure fairness, this year we plan to hold an initial selection round to determine the 32 competitors who will take part on the day of the event. Those wishing to participate will need to submit a one-minute advocacy video, which will be assessed by a panel of members from the Bar and Bench.
The competition itself will consist of an initial round from which the judges will select up to eight participants to compete in the final, which will be held on the same day. Competitors are asked to prepare two exercises, a mixture of criminal, civil and family, and will be allocated randomly. All competitors will need to prepare their allocated side for the preliminary rounds and both sides of a different exercise for the final.
