Residential Weekend consisting of 2 Advocacy Workshops, an Ethics Workshop, an Advocacy Demonstration, a Q&A Session and a public speaking session. Places are restricted to those selected via ballot.

Materials and Preparation: Students will be required to prepare for both a Criminal and a Civil advocacy exercise as well as a 5 minute presentiation on a topic of their choice. They will also need to prepare for a case analysis and ethics workshop.
Learning Aims: The aim of this Student Residential Weekend is to support students with recognising strengths and weaknesses as an advocate and apply feedback to improve their advocacy skills. Students will be supported in identifying tools and techniques to help succeed during pupillage and build their practice. The weekend will also help students formulate correct courses of action in dealing with ethical situations. Students will learn about identifying core duties and relevant sections of the Bar Code of Conduct and how to apply them to specific ethical situations.
