Four smiling women in black outfits stand together outdoors, each holding an upright cello against a city-building backdrop, conveying a warm, confident musical ensemble.

Outstanding musicians from the Royal College of Music play a programme of string music by female composers.

Join us for a 45-minute free recital by the Hwa String Quartet, presented in association with the Royal College of Music, in the beautiful setting of our Chapel.

For this performance, the quartet is joined by violist Charis Morgan for her debut with the ensemble, presenting a programme of works by women composers across the centuries, including two contemporary pieces with a cinematic feel alongside a 19th-century quartet.

Programme:

  • Yearning You Yet – Jin Cho (b. 1994)
  • String Quartet in G minor – Emillie Mayer (1812–1883)
  • In a Mist – Ka Youn Yoo (b. 2000)
