2022 marks the 600th anniversary of the Black Books, which are the Inn’s earliest records. Although we can be certain that Lincoln’s Inn was already well established by this date, 1422 marks the start of continuous records.
In celebration of this anniversary, we invite you to join our Archivist, Megan Dunmall, as she highlights key records from our archives and areas around the estate, and explains their significance.
In our ‘Into the Archives’ series, Megan will examine some of the oldest documents in our archive, such as the Inn’s charter from 1228, and the Golden Book, signed by several British monarchs. These historical items all have stories to tell, from the tragic to the humorous.
