National Security Training opportunity for junior lawyers from underrepresented groups
MI5, SIS and GCHQ are the UK’s Intelligence Agencies who work together to keep the country safe. They are offering a unique chance for lawyers from underrepresented groups at the start of their careers to gain an insight into what life working for the UK Intelligence Community (UKIC) is really like.
UKIC is looking for enthusiastic junior lawyers with an interest in working in national security law to take part in a two-day event that will offer information about who they are, what they do, what it’s like to work for them and the different areas of law on which they advise. Guidance on the application process, training and mentoring will also be provided.
No previous experience in national security law is required.

Eligibility Criteria
The training event is open to you if you are a recently qualified lawyer of up to 2 years PQE or post-pupillage as at the time of your application and you are from one of the following underrepresented groups:
- Ethnic minority background
- Disabled
- Care leaver
- Lower socio-economic background
Nationality: In order to be eligible to apply you must also be a British Citizen.
