Seminar: Applying to Become a Judge
Wednesday 1 July 2020 at 6 pm (registration from 5.30 pm)
The Judicial Diversity Committee is holding a seminar to encourage legal professionals from groups under represented within the judiciary to consider applying to become a judge.
Participants will hear from a sitting judge and a representative from the Judicial Appointments Commission. This will help participants:
- consider if a judicial role is right for them
- find out how to prepare for application
- understand what is involved in the application process.
This opportunity is open to BACFI members with a minimum of five years post qualification experience. No litigation experience is required.
Applications are particularly welcome from women, BAME lawyers and those who attended a state school and/or are first generation in their family to go to university.
This seminar is currently scheduled to be held at DLA Piper, 160 Aldersgate Street, London but may be held as an online webinar if appropriate.
To attend you must register beforehand due to limited spaces and security arrangements at the venue.
To register or if you have any queries please email [email protected] or call 07507 237218.
