On 20 November 2024, the Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, The Right Honourable Dame Siobhan Keegan gave the annual Sir Thomas More Lecture at the Inn, titled “Human Rights Protections: A View from Northern Ireland”.

Making reference to Thomas More’s seminal text ‘Utopia’, Dame Keegan offered a “view of human rights from a Northern Irish perspective”, exploring how human rights cases feature in Northern Ireland’s legal framework, new challenges posed by emergent technology and more.
