Updates from Circuit, November 2024
We were delighted to host our first Lincoln’s Inn Midland Circuit event on 17 October 2024. The event brought together the full spectrum of members, and we enjoyed sharing ideas on how to be more visible and active on Circuit. We welcomed Mrs Justice Tipples as our speaker, whose talk titled ‘Thoughts from a Presider’ was underlined with thoughts and tips on wellbeing and inclusion and her experiences on Circuit. It was wonderful to share in the talk, and in a bite to eat and drink with all attendees.

Last month, the Inn’s Midland Circuit Representatives hosted ‘The Midland Circuit: Thoughts from a Presider’, a talk by The Hon Mrs Justice Tipples. Mrs Justice Tipples is the Presiding Judge for the Midland Circuit and a Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn. She was appointed a Recorder in 2009, a Deputy High Court Judge in 2013 and a High Court Judge in 2019. Thank you to all our members who attended. We look forward to more such events in future.
New Circuit Judges Announced
The Inn would like to congratulate the following members, who have recently been appointed Circuit Judges:
- Her Honour Judge Birk – deployed to the Midland Circuit from 28 October 2024
- His Honour Judge Conley – deployed to the South Eastern Circuit from 4 November 2024
- His Honour Judge Gurdial Singh – deployed to the North Eastern Circuit from 11 November 2024
- His Honour Judge Roscoe – deployed to the South Eastern Circuit from 18 November 2024
- His Honour Judge Andrew Johnson – deployed to the South Eastern Circuit from 2 December 2024
- His Honour Judge Meegan – deployed to the Midland Circuit from 13 January 2025
Northern Circuit Social – Thursday 28 November 2024
Join us for a drinks reception at Lincoln House Chambers in Manchester with the Inn’s Circuit Representatives, Lisa Roberts KC and Isabelle Haddad. We will also be joined by Mr Justice Julian Goose, Presiding Judge of the Northern Circuit. The event will be a perfect opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues from the Inn, all of whom live and work on the Northern Circuit. Find out more.
