Young Bar Mentoring Scheme

Young Bar Mentoring (“YBM”), a new mentoring scheme for aspiring barristers, is looking for its first generation of mentors.

YBM connects applicants for GDL/Bar Course scholarships and pupillage with mentors who have recently been successful in those same applications. They strongly believe in the value of applicants learning from mentors who have just gone through the process and are willing to share their experiences of pursuing a career at the Bar.

If you have received a GDL scholarship from an Inn of Court in the last 3 years or obtained a Bar Course scholarship/pupillage in the last 2 years, they would love to have you on board.

Their expectation, if you kindly agree to be a mentor, is that you will:

• Mentor at least two applicants through the 2021-22 application cycle;
• Be contacted by YBM about matters connected to the scheme; and
• Promote the YBM scheme to potential mentees/mentors.
