Hale Manuscript 194 is one of the Library’s finest manuscripts – a magnificent late C15th volume of statutes, richly decorated and gilded. Heidi Kinderman, who has made a special study of this and other examples from this golden age of manuscript production, will discuss the manuscript, its context and the tumultuous life of its first owner, John Neville, Marquess of Montagu.

The lecture will be followed by a reception in the Library and the chance to see a special display of some of the Inn’s most treasured mediaeval manuscripts.
