Case Analysis & Ethics Day

Students will be sent a Case Analysis exercise and Ethical Scenarios a week in advance to prepare. Students will go through the case in groups led by experience practitioners, identifying the strong and weak points of the case. During the ethics session, students will discuss the scenarios in groups and aim to identify the core duties engaged within each scenario.

Materials and Preparation: Students will be sent exercises a week before the event to prepare in advance of the session. Students who have clearly not prepared will not be awarded a Qualifying Session.  Students will discuss a case analysis and ethical scenarios in groups led by experienced practitioners. The Case Analysis will explore the preparation of a case. The Ethics session will aim to identify the core duties engaged within each scenario. Lunch is included.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of this Qualifying Session students will be able to:

·         Identify and evaluate the mitigating and aggravating factors within the case.

·         Apply the key principles of case analysis methodology.

·         Recognise when core duties are engaged in specific ethical situations.
