Applications for the Helen Grindrod Social Mobility Prize 2024 are now open

On Thursday 18 April, the Inn hosted a webinar to provide practical support on applications for the Helen Grindrod Social Mobility Prize.

The prize is aimed at second year undergraduate law students and seeks to improve access to the profession for those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. The prize includes a monetary grant of £250 and mentoring opportunities. We are seeking to award at least 50% of the places to applicants of Black or mixed Black heritage, whom according to the Bar Council’s Race at the Bar Report are proportionally less successful in obtaining pupillage than white applicants.

During this webinar, attendees were able to ask any questions regarding the scheme to the Inn’s Outreach Coordinator and hear from the recipients of the 2023 prize. If you have any further questions about the application process that weren’t answered in the webinar, please email our Outreach Team at [email protected].

Applications for the prize are now open and will close on Monday 27 May 2024. To find out more information about the eligibility criteria, head to the Funding page.
