Treasurer’s Circuit Dinners 2024
Life at the Bar can be a lonely place at times and practising on Circuit it is easy to feel disconnected from the Inn. The Treasurer’s Circuit Dinner is a fantastic opportunity for those on Circuit to catch up with those we already know and to meet the Treasurer, fellow barristers, and members of the Judiciary.

The Treasurer of Lincoln’s Inn, the Rt Hon Lord Briggs of Westbourne, is hosting dinners for Called members on Circuit. The first dinner of the year was aimed at members on the North Eastern Circuit, and took place in Leeds on 12 April 2024. The second dinner will be taking place at the Hotel du Vin in Bristol on Friday 14 June, and is open to Called members on the Western Circuit. For booking details and further information, head to the What’s On page.
The Inn is committed to building a firm sense of community with our members based outside of London, and these dinners provide our members the chance to network and socialise with their peers on Circuit. Members also have the opportunity to meet the Treasurer and the Under Treasurer, Anne Sharp CBE, who play instrumental roles in the governance of the Inn.
The Leeds dinner was held at the Grand Pacific Bar, situated in the The Queen’s Hotel, Leeds. Her Honour Judge Henley, Senior Representative of the North Eastern Circuit, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and was delighted to see so many members of the Inn there. It was a great turn out, demonstrating that there is a real enthusiasm for these events. The venue worked well and the food and wine were excellent. I’m looking forward to our next event on Circuit and hoping that its equally well supported.”

“Lincoln’s Inn events are always a great place to meet fellow members of the Inn who one might not otherwise come across in practice. From a junior perspective, having the time to speak with more senior practitioners and Judges in an informal environment and to hear their experiences is invaluable. The evening also promises to be great fun, with good food and excellent company! I look forward to seeing you there.”
