Career Progression within Intersectional Identities
On Tuesday 5 July the Inn hosted an EDI Forum panel event ‘Career Progression within Intersectional Identities’; this is a recording of that event.
The expert panel have all held positions that have required consideration of the formal and informal processes that may impact career progression within the Bar. They shared their experiences around intersectionality in the workplace and how this affects selection processes and career development.
The panel, chaired by HHJ Barbara Mensah, was made up of:
- Lady Justice Carr DBE – Vice Chair of the Judicial Appointments commission.
- Rachel Krys – Bar Council, leads the Bar Council’s Accelerator Programme.
- Gary Pryce – New Square Chambers. He is on the Bar Council Race Working Group and the Black Inclusion Group.
- Dr Douglas Board – Career change and leadership coach, lay member of the QC selection panel, chair of the Refugee Council 2007-2012.
The Forum concluded with a Q&A session, however, this is not available in the recorded version.
