The Bar Representation Committee – 2024 elections now open

On Wednesday 28 August, the Inn contacted all members of Hall inviting them to submit a nomination form to stand for the 2024 Bar Representation Committee (BRC) election.
On Wednesday 16 October, the election opened for a three-week voting period. The election process will be coordinated independently by Civica and all members of Hall for whom we hold a current email address and who have opted into communications from the Inn should receive a ballot email.
The details of the candidates standing for election are listed below and can also be found on the BRC page under the Elections 2024 section:
- 1 vacancy for members of 7 years call and under with a current practising certificate in England and Wales (who will automatically be part of both the BRC and the Junior Members sub-Committee)
- 1 vacancy for members with no current practising certificate in England and Wales (encompassing international members and English and Welsh members who do not practise in England and Wales but who are called by the Inn)
- 1 vacancy for members of over 7 years call with a current practising certificate in England and Wales at the employed bar
- 3 vacancies for members of over 7 years call with a current practising certificate in England and Wales at the self-employed bar

The election results will be announced at the BRC Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 13 November.
