Circuit highlights – wrapping up 2024

As the year draws to a close, Lincoln’s Inn members have come together at a series of successful social events on circuit. We are also pleased to share news of recent judicial appointments for Inn members, as well as a look ahead to the launch of our new Circuit Newsletter in the coming year.

A lovely event at my chambers where Circuit Representative for the Northern Circuit, Isabelle Haddad, and I, were joined by Circuit’s presiding judge, Mr Justice Goose, and a host of Inn colleagues who practise on the Northern Circuit.

Lisa Roberts KC, Senior Circuit Representative for the Northern Circuit

On 28 November, the Inn’s Northern Circuit Representatives hosted a Northern Circuit Social for local members in Manchester. They were joined by The Hon Mr Justice Goose, the Presiding Judge for the Northern Circuit and Bencher of the Inn. He was appointed a Deputy High Court Judge in 2010, a Senior Circuit Judge in 2013, and in 2017, he was appointed a High Court Judge and assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division before becoming the Presiding Judge for the Northern Circuit in 2022. Thank you to all our members who attended. We look forward to more such events in the new year.

The following week, on 5 December, members from the Wales and Chester Circuit came together at Apex Chambers in Cardiff for a festive celebration hosted the Inn’s Wales and Chester Circuit Representatives. The event was a great success and attended by many Lincoln’s Inn members, including local student members. It was a great opportunity for members on the Circuit to meet and have a festive celebration and the feedback was excellent:

As a student member, I found the event to be eye-opening…[it] was a fantastic blend of professionalism and festivity, leaving me both inspired and eager to remain connected with the exceptional individuals on Circuit.

I thoroughly enjoyed mingling with members of chambers and other members of the Bar who had come to enjoy the festive evening.
